Hello! I'm Mrs. Baker and I will teach third grade reading, language arts, and social studies for Team Baker/Laughlin. This is my twentieth year teaching for Louisville City Schools. I have taught first grade for nine years and this will be my eleventh year teaching third grade. Prior to that, I attended Walsh University where I received my B.A in Elementary Education. I have also completed my masters degree at Marygrove College. Outside the classroom, I enjoy golfing, coaching softball and basketball, watching the BUCKEYES, and spending time with my family Matt, Maggie(11), and Jake(9). We also have two dogs named Tressel and Tatum. They make our lives very interesting.
Teaching is a commitment that I take very seriously. My mission as a teacher is to create an enthusiastic and positive learning environment to help instill in your child the willingness to learn. I plan on treating your child with respect, kindness, and understanding so your child wants to achieve at his/her highest potential.
An important process in your child's learning is creating a means of communication to address questions and concerns. This will help promote an enjoyable learning environment for your child. Please feel free to contact me at school through e-mail or by phone. I am looking forward to an exciting year with your child.
